Peruvian White Guava is a productive tree from Peru, producing large fruit for eating fresh off the tree or canning and preserving.
Often eaten under ripe and raw they are dipped in a salty sugar mix with chili, or mixed into a green papaya or mango salad.
They are an excellent source of vitamin C, potassium and B vitamins a single fruit can have as much as 8 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein.
The bumpy, apple shaped fruit is green on the exterior with a unique creamy white interior flesh and few seeds.
Fruit typically scales in at 1.0 – 1.7 lbs. and are tart, creamy and aromatic with a sweet juicy pulp.
Light pruning is recommended to develop a strong base in order to support the additional weight during fruiting season.
